About Rooted Belief

Hi, I'm Toni!

First, I just want to say that I’m so glad you’re here. My hope is that you’ll find something on this site that meets you where you are and points you toward a loving God.

Rooted Belief is meant to be a safe place for everyone - whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for years or you’re simply curious about the faith.

Personally, I grew up in church and absolutely loved being a church kid. I was fortunate to be surrounded by other young believers, which made church and learning about Jesus exciting and meaningful.

Admittedly, once I went off to college, I didn’t stay as connected as I had been at home. I found myself going down a path that wasn’t God’s best for me - a path that led to a lot of heartbreak and rejection.

Yet even then, there were moments when I knew the Lord was calling me back to Himself. Certain habits and lifestyles never seemed to stick. As the years went by, I would quickly grow dissatisfied with the things I thought would fulfill me.

It wasn’t until my senior year of college that things seemed to be falling into place. I had gotten engaged a few months before graduation and was preparing to enter my career field. It felt like life was unfolding exactly as I had imagined.

But God had a different plan.

The engagement was called off. The relationship ended. And I found myself back home with my parents, right where I had started.

Little did I know, the next seven years would consist of careful pruning while God established deep roots in me. Year after year, He took me through a process of healing, growing, and learning. I was challenged on every level of what I believed about God and His Word. If I’m honest, there were some seasons that I wasn’t sure how I would make it through.

But I can write this today with so much gratitude, and say that God truly kept me through every moment of that season. He sustained me, strengthened me, and faithfully carried me to where I am now.

As the Lord has strengthened and established me in my faith, my desire is to help others become strengthened and established in theirs. I don’t want anyone to be uprooted from the faith or left uncertain about who God is and what they believe.

I won’t pretend to have all the answers, and I certainly don’t know everything. But I do love the Lord with all my heart, and I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit who dwells within me. Through what the Lord has taught me, the journey He has brought me through, and the revelation He gives, my prayer is that this blog becomes a community for those who desire to have Rooted Belief—an established faith that remains firm through every season.
